The Moment I Knew Casting Was It For Me
I didn’t move to LA to be in front of the camera—I moved because I knew I belonged behind it. I just didn’t know where yet.
That clicked the day when I watched Kevin Bacon play two completely different characters in two completely different films… and believed both. It wasn’t just brilliant acting—it was smart casting.
That’s when I realised someone made that decision. I wanted to be that someone.

I’ve Sat at the Table. I Know What Gets You Hired.
I began my casting career over two decades ago in the Talent & Casting department at FOX. Since then, I’ve worked closely with respected casting directors like Jeanie Bacharach, Gillian O’Neill, and Lauren Grey. In 2011, I partnered with Casting Director Risa Bramon Garcia to cast numerous pilots and series for networks including CBS, NBC, and Showtime.
That experience paved the way for me to launch Christy Faison Casting—leading projects for HBO, AMC, MGM, and indie films that screened at top festivals.
My casting credits include:
-
The Newsroom (HBO)
-
The Affair (Showtime)
-
SEAL Team (CBS)
-
Ash vs Evil Dead (Starz)
-
Knight of Cups (Terrence Malick)
-
The Walking Dead: Red Machete (AMC, Emmy-nominated)
-
Conversations in LA (Emmy-nominated)
-
Stargate Origins (MGM)
…plus over a dozen indie features.
Teaching Wasn’t the Plan. But I Was Built for It.
Risa was the one who nudged me into teaching. She’d seen how I worked with actors in the casting room—how I asked the right questions, gave clear direction, and knew when to push or pivot. She said, “If you coach the way you direct in the room, you’ll give actors something real to work with.”
So I did. And from that very first class, I was all in.
Since then, I’ve taught in LA, New York, Atlanta, New Zealand, and as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas. I also co-founded The Village Acting Studio in LA, which became a trusted space for actors to train and grow.
Wherever I teach, the mission stays the same: help actors trust themselves, take risks, and bring something to the work no one else can.
New City. Same Work. Still Showing Up.
In 2024, I moved to Atlanta to be closer to family. It was a personal shift—but not a professional pause.
The industry may be in flux, but I’m still casting, still coaching, and still helping actors do the kind of work that gets noticed.
Because helping actors do their best work? That’s what I’m here for.
